His parents and loved ones can thank him for avoiding a more nightmarish Christmas than it already was. On the evening of December 24, like many people around the world, a family from Dordogne was celebrating Christmas Eve a few hours before a fire destroyed the house in which they were located.
Indeed, as revealed France Bluea fire broke out during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, in a house in Douville (Dordogne), around thirty kilometers south of Périgueux. A fire which wreaked havoc but caused no casualties thanks to to the intervention of an 8 year old child.
8-year-old saves family from fire
The young boy did not put out the flames but was very responsive to avoid a tragedy on Christmas Day. As reported by our colleagues from Parisianthe 8-year-old boy noticed that the flames were starting to spread in the house where his family was staying.
When he realized that his home was on fire, he decided to intervene. For that, he woke up his loved ones so that they did not leave the place and then call the firefighters. According to France Blueemergency services were notified around 1 a.m. before intervening.
A gesture that saved lives. Because if the 8-year-old boy had not been awake when the flames spread, the fire could have caused many victims. However, thanks to his intervention, the child allowed his loved ones not to perish in the flames on Christmas Eve.
A Christmas like no other
However, our colleagues from France Blue a you Parisian indicate that the house was largely destroyed by the fire although firefighters managed to save part of the villa. An intervention which also required the presence of around twenty firefighters on the scene.
Despite this tragedy, no casualties were reported; none of the six members of the family were injured. There is no doubt that with such an event, the next Christmas holidays will have a special flavor for the family saved by the 8-year-old child.
It may take several years before she fully recovers from this trauma.
