Reinforced attention from the neonatal period
From the first hours of life, the notebook introduces new essential data, such as the Apgar score measured at 10 minutes, in order to better assess the state of health of newborns. Furthermore, any parental refusals regarding neonatal screening must now be recorded.
Modern advice for parents
The section dedicated to practical advice has been enriched and updated. Parents will find in particular recommendations for raising their child without resorting to violence, revised tables on the introduction of foods, updated information on sleep, benchmarks for detecting neurodevelopmental disorders and even advice on the use of screens, adapted to different ages, as announced by former Minister of Health Geneviève Darrieussecq.
More complete medical monitoring
The medical part also benefits from numerous improvements. The 20 compulsory health examinations are now detailed, with particular attention to the new examination at age 6.
In addition, a section associates each age with benchmarks to monitor the child’s cognitive, social and motor development, accompanied by prevention messages.
From 3 months, questions about exposure to screens appear, and from 2 years, physical activity becomes a subject for monitoring. In adolescence, specific questions address themes such as endometriosis or psycho-affective state.
The summary of each consultation is also simplified and includes a reminder of vaccinations as well as possible referrals to other professionals.
For healthcare professionals: a modernized tool
The notebook introduces screening grids for neurodevelopmental disorders from 5 months to 6 years, as well as information for early detection of visual or neurological disorders. The contact details of the orientation platforms (PCO) are accessible via a QR code.
The vaccination section has been reorganized and updated to reflect the new recommendations. The dedicated pages continue to serve as the official vaccination certificate for community admissions.
Simplified health certificates
The mandatory certificates (8 days, 8 months, 23 months) have been refined for faster filling. Although still printed by the departments, dematerialization is being considered to further simplify the process.
