The day is notably marked by the return of the rides to the funfair, a parade of horses and a fireworks display.
This Saturday, December 21, the first day of the Christmas school holidays, there are many activities in Alès, in the Gard. The funfair will now be open every day, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., on the fairgrounds on Avenue Jules-Guesde, until classes resume. At the Rochebelle cultural and scientific center, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., activities are offered to children: quad biking, bouncy castle, mascots, magic and laser game. On the Place des Martyrs-de-la-Résistance, the synthetic ice rink is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (€2, skates provided).
On the square in front of the Le Cratère theater, in the very center of the capital of the Cévennes, the Christmas market awaits its customers from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. And in his chalet, Santa Claus lets himself be photographed with the children, or even their families, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (fee). At the same place, a snow globe modeling workshop is held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Also, still in front of the National Stage, a concert by the Santa trio is scheduled from 6 p.m.
A series of wanderings is expected
There will also be movement in the streets of the city center: little Christmas train, departing from Place Gabriel-Péri, from 10:30 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.; musical strolls with the Platt Band and meeting with Santa Claus, from 11 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Christmas parades, with illuminated floats, mascot and horse parade, at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Finally, to end this day, fireworks will be set off at 6:30 p.m. from the Hermitage. An ideal place to enjoy it? From the quays du Gardon and rue Jules-Cazot, for example.
