After the incidents which marred the match against QRM, FC Rouen was sanctioned with a match behind closed doors by the French Football Federation which will be purged during its next home match in the championship, against Le Mans next January.
In a press release, President Postel’s club explains that it reserves the right to appeal and announces a commercial gesture towards its supporters: “FC Rouen 1899 would like to inform its supporters of the sanction imposed on the club due to the incidents that occurred during the meeting against Quevilly. Our next home match against Le Mans will for the moment be played behind closed doors. The club plans to consult with its legal department to examine the possibility of filing an appeal and will communicate again if this process is initiated. If the Le Mans match must be played without spectators, supporters who have purchased the Quevilly/Le Mans duo pack will automatically be allocated a place for the Aubagne reception on 01/24. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow in Diochon to experience a new football festival, with respect and conviviality.
