Since December 6, Bibelot has been delighting lovers of coffee, simple and tasty food and decoration. Designed by Laurence and her two children Camille and Paul, the place is very welcoming and warm, and brings an extra soul to rue de la Vicomté.

We are not in rue Saint-Nicolas and yet, on December 6, the feast day of this patron protector of children, it was a very nice gift that the Blot family offered to the people of by opening Bibelot.

Nestled in rue de la Vicomté, a stone’s throw from the Vieux-marché and la Pucelle squares, this new hybrid business is both a café where you can have breakfast, and a restaurant where you can also eat stop for a snack, and a decoration shop. Crossroads also of the various influences with which the family trio nourished this project.

“We’ve been talking about it for a very long time,” explains Laurence. “I was doing something completely different before Bibelot. I said to myself: ‘Why not?’. I like this relational side with people, I have a passion for decoration. Let’s go!”

At the origin of this café restaurant concept, Camille, the daughter, who always wanted to own her own establishment. “After having gained different experiences in catering, I wanted to open Bibelot to create our own identity, in an intimate, cozy, warm place. We have a large room with sofas, rugs where our customers feel so good that they They ask us if they can take off their shoes as if they were at home!”

After visiting several premises, Laurence and her two children fell in love with the one on rue de la Vicomté. The latter ticks all the family criteria, namely being in the city center of Rouen, being located in a pedestrian street and having a small surface area.

Inside, the deep green wall and the glass shelves judiciously highlight the trinkets selected by Laurence, Camille and Paul. The latter chose, for example, a small world map and a carafe, which sit alongside colorful tableware brought back from Marrakech and other objects found in Belgium or even textile creations by Laurence.

These multiple influences and this taste for travel are also found in the culinary offering developed by Camille: “I really like world cuisine, but also that which is simple, family, made with good and seasonal products. C That’s why we only have four dishes on the menu, regularly changed according to the seasons and desires.”

For now, you can enjoy a cooked egg as a starter, a tasty roasted camembert, a very filling croque-monsieur/madame on a wholemeal bread base, a ricotta-spinach-smoked trout quiche or even a shakchouka with Mexican. And if you have a sweet tooth, finish with a sweet note with rice pudding and brioche.

In short, you will have understood, all reasons lead to Bibelot, whether you are looking for a decorative idea or want to treat yourself to a comforting break around a good dessert for snack, a mint green tea smoking to start your day off right or to get together with family, friends or colleagues around a convivial dish.
