Grenade. At the racecourse, the Grand Prix du Baron d’Ardeuil

The last meeting of the year scheduled for this Sunday, December 22 at the Marianne racecourse will offer 7 trotting races, with a very interesting Grand Prix du Baron d’Ardeuil AOC Buzet, which is aimed at experienced horses from 6 to 9 years. Let us also mention the François Majorel and Angélo Dal Grande Prizes, in tribute to two late members.

Despite a year marked by the erosion of PMH revenues and the increase in charges (gas, electricity), the Grenada Horse Racing Association draws up an overall correct assessment. The drop in Mutuel’s revenue was offset by sponsorship from civil societies, by “services sold” (revenue from the refreshment bar and room rental), and by subsidies allocated by the Trot parent company. Note that the Granada town hall also pays, as with any association, a small subsidy.

The racecourse is aging and major work will be necessary, in particular the very expensive repair of the roof of the stands. The new president Philippe Joubioux and his board of directors will have the difficult task of continuing the renovation and improvement work successfully initiated by his predecessor Jean-Sébastien Seigné, and in the tradition of all former presidents. They are determined to work in this direction.

The members remain motivated and invest, each in their area of expertise, to ensure the good management of the association. The very favorable feedback from professionals praises the quality of the track. This is due to the daily care of Robert Lacroix and the advice of the track referent, Lionel Jouan, because the maintenance of the race track remains a priority.

At the end of the year, President Philippe Joubioux would like to thank the loyal public at the racecourse and to present his best wishes for the next year to all racegoers. He will meet them on January 26, 2025 at the Marianne racecourse, for a new horse racing year that he hopes will be full of good surprises and emotions.
