Eleven dead in cafe fire in Hanoi
The Hanoi Police have decided to initiate criminal proceedings for “murder” against CVH (born in 1973, resident of Dai Mach commune, Dong Anh district (Hanoi).

This decision aims to investigate his act of arson which caused 11 deaths in a cafe located at 258, Pham Van Dong Street, Bac Tu Liêm district in Hanoi, on the night of December 18.
The incident occurred at 11:03 p.m. on December 18. After receiving the report, firefighters were quickly dispatched to the scene. At 11:40 p.m. the same day, the fire was brought under control but left 11 people dead and two injured.
CVH who had two previous convictions for “robbery” et “theft of property”admitted to setting the cafe on fire after an argument with cafe staff, pouring petrol on the ground floor before fleeing.
The Hanoi Police Director and local authorities went to the scene to direct rescue operations and conduct an investigation. At the same time, measures are being taken to identify victims and support their families.
The investigation continues to clarify the circumstances and motives of the tragedy.
