Sqorus, a French firm specializing in Digital Transformation, knows how to please its employees. For six years now, the company has offered them a day off for their birthday, reports The Parisian Wednesday October 16, 2024. In total, nearly 300 of its employees can benefit from it, without using RTT or days off.
This initiative was imagined in 2018 by the human resources department, which was looking for benefits to grant to employees without reusing what already exists elsewhere. A gesture that “builds employee loyalty” at the same time, according to Mathieu Flaig, the director of HR strategy. Only condition: have at least one year of seniority within the structure.
Any day of the year
Employees can therefore ask for any day of the year, and if the birthday falls on a variable or fixed public holiday, they have the possibility of taking the following day. If the year is not a leap year, people born on February 29 can take leave the day before or on the 1st.is March, indicates HR Director Sabine Khouri-Lafarge. On the other hand, “if your birthday falls on a Saturday, too bad for the person”specifies the manager.
Questioned by our colleagues, several employees who benefited from this bonus day were won over and showed themselves grateful to their employer. This also allows their colleagues to know their birthday and wish them via message. “The whole company is thinking of you”reacted one of them. A few years ago, the firm was even awarded the “Great Place To Work” label.
