But when will these rainy episodes stop? After the storm passes Kirk last week, a Cévennes episode will affect France this Wednesday, October 16. If five departments are placed on orange vigilance, Loire-Atlantique has just moved to yellow rain-flood and flood vigilance for the Loire estuary section, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The high tidal coefficients associated with a flow rate of the Loire above normal for the month of October are likely to lead to localized overflows on the section of the Loire estuary at the high tide peaks at the end of the day

The bad weather conditions of recent weeks, culminating in the storm KirkWednesday October 9, continue to leave their mark, particularly among farmers. All day long, the department placed on orange alert, and more particularly the Pays de Retz, was affected by torrential rains: in 24 hours, 88 mm of rain fell in Pornic, 75 mm in Nantes, and 60 mm in Saint-Nazaire. Firefighters intervened nearly 440 times.
