“It’s time to stop supporting Justin Trudeau and vote no confidence to trigger an election on taxes,” the Conservative leader said at a press briefing.

The latter maintains that the Prime Minister “will never leave the post and must be fired.”

“There are two people who can do it. Yves-François Blanchet, who voted 188 to keep Justin Trudeau in power in confidence votes, and Jagmeet Singh,” said Pierre Poilievre.

The CPC leader also took the opportunity to accuse Justin Trudeau of clinging to power and “putting his personal interests before the daily lives of Canadians.”

“It is more important for Justin Trudeau to keep power than to allow single mothers to afford good food for their children or for the younger generation to have access to property or for the elderly to be able to stay in their homes,” said Pierre Poilievre.

In an English-language letter to Jagmeet Singh published earlier Thursday morning, Pierre Poilievre calls on him to withdraw “from the costly coalition” and hold a confidence vote against the government in September “to trigger an election on the carbon tax in October THIS YEAR.”

More details to come.
