An 18-year-old biker is found dead on Route de Chêne

This is the second death on Geneva roads since the beginning of the year. An 18-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a car. The police are looking for witnesses to the accident.

The tragedy took place this Sunday, around 1:15 a.m. A motorcyclist is driving on the Route de Chêne, towards Thônex. At chemin de la Chevillarde, for a reason that the investigation will have to determine, a collision occurred between the front of his vehicle and the right rear side of a car. It was traveling in the opposite direction and took the path in question, crossing the tram tracks and the traffic lane where the motorcyclist was.

Biker knocked to the ground

Following the impact, the driver of the motorcycle was thrown to the ground. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. As for the driver of the car, aged 71, he is “slightly injured and quite shocked”, according to the press release from the cantonal police.

The Road and Accidents Brigade (BRA) has opened an investigation, under the direction of the Public Ministry, to determine the circumstances of the accident. She is looking for possible witnesses, who are asked to call 022 427 64 50.
