Threat of hard strike at the airport from June 29
The SSP union intends to block all traffic within a week if Cointrin’s new salary policy is accepted by the board.

On June 29, from noon, it is possible that Geneva airport will suffer a total shutdown of operations. In any case, this is the threat posed by the Public Services Union (SSP), which indicated on Thursday that it had already warned the major airlines, “in order to divert their aircraft to other destinations”.
Wages are at stake
The day of action chosen is the day on which the board of directors of the airport platform will meet. In the morning, he will be called upon to validate, or not, the new compensation policy desired by management. This provides, according to the SSP, to abolish bonuses “which sometimes represent the equivalent of a 13th salary”; the possibility of “freezing wages until retirement”; and that of “degrading” an employee based on their behavior or individual goals.
“The search will not be guaranteed”
Knowing that the employees concerned number a thousand, and that a large number operate in the field of security, Jamshid Pouranpir announces that in the event of a strike, “it will be a total stoppage” of Cointrin’s activities. “The search of passengers will not be ensured, the employees responsible for the security of the track will stop working. It is obvious that the planes will be grounded.”
“Have the most impact possible”
“We must seek efficiency and ensure that our movement has the greatest possible impact,” explains the union secretary. This is why the strike will begin “immediately after the board of directors”, if the latter did not yield. “It will be very popular. More than 300 employees took part in the general meeting. The watchword is: those who work leave their place of work, those who are on leave join them in solidarity.
Jamshid Pouranpir also says he regrets that the Council of State “does not get wet. We warned him, he did not react, contenting himself with acknowledgments of receipt.
The management of the airport and the government have been solicited. They have not yet been able to respond to us.
