Nador – A regional ceremony to consecrate the winning schools of the “Eco-Schools” program in the Oriental region was organized at the Saad Ibn Abi Wakkas school, under the Provincial Directorate of National Education of Nador .
During this ceremony, some 58 schools from different provincial directorates under the Oriental Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) were awarded prizes for the 2023-2024 school year.
Of these award-winning establishments, 14 schools were awarded the “Green Flag” label, while 21 establishments won the Silver Certificate and 23 schools the Bronze Certificate.
Speaking on this occasion, the director of AREF Oriental, Mohamed Dib, emphasized the joint, renewed and fruitful cooperation between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the Ministry of National education, preschool and sports.
This ceremony was marked by the consecration of the educational establishments, which distinguished themselves and excelled in the way of managing the “Eco-Schools” program, and in the implementation of its main axes, he continued.
He underlined, in this regard, the Academy’s concern to activate, in an optimal manner, this international environmental program, which aims to create a positive impact on the behavior of the school community, in general, and on daily behavior learners, in particular, in terms of establishing ecological awareness through their awareness of environmental issues.
For his part, the representative of the Mohammed VI Foundation for environmental protection, Farid Alaoui, stressed that the Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, has made the commitment , as part of the “Eco-Schools” Program, to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment, adding that the Foundation ensures the involvement of the different parties to achieve this objective.
He praised, in this context, the efforts of the regional and provincial structures of the Oriental region, educational and administrative executives, learners, various partners and all those who encourage good environmental practices in establishments. schools as an incubator for the healthy education of children, so that they actively participate in the protection of the environment, in the present and the future.
For his part, the representative of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mbarek Amzine, noted that this ceremony constitutes an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of students and girls, educational and administrative executives and partners of school, and strengthen the spirit of confidence in the Moroccan school and its place in society, calling on all stakeholders to advocate and encourage the culture of excellence.
