Podor, Jan 24 (APS) – The gendarmerie brigades of Podor and Aéré Lao, inaugurated this Friday, will strengthen the security of people and their property, declared the Minister of the Armed Forces, General Birame Diop.
”The two units are part of a set of infrastructures, which aim to strengthen the security of populations and their property throughout the country, in this area in particular. These brigades constitute a bulwark against insecurity,” he maintained during the inauguration ceremony.
The event was held in the presence of the High Commander of the National Gendarmerie and Director of Military Justice, Major General Martin Faye, the prefect of Podor, Mactar Diop, a representative of the mayor of Podor and the singer Baba Maal.
General Diop also invited the gendarmes to “a synergy of actions with all the Defense and Security Forces in the area” for a synergy of security missions, in relation with the administrative authorities.
“The construction of these brigades significantly improves the working conditions of the gendarmes, as well as the reception and guidance of users,” indicated the minister.
-He also underlined that the opening of these two brigades constitutes an opportunity to establish partnerships and create bonds of trust with citizens.
