The number of air passengers in Morocco has increased significantly in recent years, from 7.7 million in 2005 to 32.5 million in 2024. To support this growth, the government has decided to invest 42 billion dirhams in the development of airport infrastructure by 2030.
Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics, presented this investment plan to the House of Representatives, recalling the importance of the aviation sector for the country’s economy and recalling the efforts already made to improve the performance of the sector and reduce ticket prices.

Casablanca airport, the country’s main airport, will see its handling capacity increased to 44 million passengers per year. A new terminal will be built in Rabat-Salé to accommodate 4 million passengers. The airports of Fez, Tangier and Agadir will also be expanded and modernized. Marrakech will benefit from major expansion work to reach a capacity of 16 million passengers.
-The government also plans to support the development of Royal Air Maroc by helping it modernize its fleet. The objective is to strengthen the competitiveness of the national airline and enable it to meet the growing demand for air transport.
