The year 2024 made it possible to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the “Remarkable Garden” label by Minister Jean-Jacques Aillagon. As early as 2005, the Drac Île-de-France labeled 20 iconic park and gardens of the region. Since that date, the Circle of Remarkable Ile -de -France gardens has increased and diversified.
The “Remarkable Garden” label makes it possible to distinguish from gardens open to the public and with cultural, aesthetic, historical or botanical interest. It meets requirement criteria on composition, integration into the site and the quality of the surroundings, the remarkable elements. It takes into account the diversity of parks and gardens, and can concern small or extended gardens and all styles.
In 2024, the investigation of label requests gave rise to three attributions: the Retz desert in Chambourcy (Yvelines), an exceptional witness to the Anglo-Chinese gardens at the end of the 18th centurye Century and major milestone in the art of the garden, the Garden of Parmelia in Doue (Seine-et-Marne) and the Boussard park in Lardy (Essonne), two XX gardense century that expanded the corpus of the Remarkable Ile -de -France gardens. The investigation of renewal requests allowed 19 renewals for a period of 7 years.
45 gardens are now labeled in Île-de-France.
