The Tesla Model Y 2025 arrives in Canada

The New Tesla Model Y (code name Juniper) will soon be delivered to Canadian buyers. The American manufacturer opened orders on its website and specifies that the first deliveries will take place in March 2025.

When compared with the outgoing model, we immediately see that the front part was completely revised. In particular the headlights, very fine and linked together by a light strip. A design that is reminiscent of the last born of the brand such as Cybertruck or Cybercab. The rear part also evolves but less importantly.

Inside, Tesla announces a revised finish quality as well as improved connectivity. Like the outgoing model, there is a 15.4 inch screen at the front. That said, the new model now adds a second 8 -inch monitor at the back. The maximum loading space culminates at 2,130 liters (2,158 in the old model), and the tailgate automatically unlocks as soon as you approach. Finally, the vehicle now uses eight cameras instead of seven.

The manufacturer also announces that the new generation suspension is better, as is soundproofing which would better preserve the occupants thanks to new insulating materials.

Only one version for the moment

When these lines are written, there is only one version available for order. As often at Tesla, the first vehicles to be delivered take the form of a special edition, more expensive and well equipped. Called Launch Edition, this is a long autonomy model with all -wheel drive. The power and the torque are not specified, but the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.3 seconds, or 0.7 seconds better than the previous model.

This new model in limited series is also distinguished by its launch inscriptions in various places (doors thresholds, central console), a vegan leather upholstery and high -end floor mats. Outside, there is a specific logo on the tailgate, whose pattern is also projected on the ground near the mirrors at the opening of the doors.

Supervised automatic driving, optional in the outgoing model ($ 11,000) comes as standard for the new Model Y. But this equipment will probably remain an option for the less expensive variants which will be sold later. The price of the Launch Edition model begins at $ 84,990, with four colors available without surplus (silver gray, dark gray, red and white).

Buyers can also opt for 19 or 20 inch rims with a different design. The announced autonomy amounts to 503 and 484 km respectively. The recharge speed peaks at 250 kW, which allows you to recover 248 km of autonomy in 15 minutes in the best conditions.

As always with Tesla, it is possible that the equipment delivered as standard or optional change over the weeks. It will also be necessary to wait a little more before knowing the prices of the whole range of Model Y. A logical decision, since there are 2024 models to sell.

Tesla also specifies that outgoing models are still available for sale, and that prices could climb up to $ 4,000 due to the suspension of the provincial discount from February 1.
