Heavy financial losses

MM Packaging is also present in other cities in . This decision to close Sarreguemines comes after “cumulative financial losses exceeding 8 million euros over the last ten years”, according to the management's press release.

Despite the efforts undertaken, no solution has been found to redress the economic situation of the site. “After an intensive exploration of all options, it became obvious that continuing activities is not viable,” specifies Cédric Bastien, director of the Sarreguemines-based company.

25 internal reclassification positions

The employees do not seem to be mobilized at the moment. No demonstrations were observed in front of the site. Two employees, encountered on site, refused to speak. Management indicates that it wants to work with staff representatives in order to “find socially acceptable solutions for all employees concerned”. In particular, it offers 25 internal reclassification positions within the group in France. For the other 24, management called on a specialized company, LHH, a human resources consultant in Sarreguemines, to support them in their professional transition.
