Two women in their forties were seriously injured this Tuesday, January 21, around 2:30 p.m., after sliding down a slope in Saint-Cergue with a protective mattress as a sled, reports “The side”. They hit a barrier head-on.
The two victims were transported to Geneva University Hospitals, one by ambulance, the other by helicopter. Currently, no information is available on their state of health.
-“Extreme shock”
Maël Deluz, manager of the Saint-Cergue ice rink, was the first to arrive at the scene of the accident. “The shock was extreme. The noise haunted me all night, it was so loud. When I heard it, I thought the worst…” he tells our colleagues. The two women “subtilized” the protective mattress used for the security of the ice rink facilities.
They then finished their race in the barrier normally protected by the mattress in question. The impact was so violent that their shoes were thrown about ten meters from the impact, reports the daily.
