During his wishes to the Angevins on Monday January 6, Christophe Béchupresident of Métropole, announced for 2025 an investment of 6 million euros for cyclingdouble from last year.

Objective : create connections from the city center to seven municipalitiess of the agglomeration: Écouflant, Longuenée-en-Anjou, Beaucouzé, Saint-Léger-de-Linières, Sainte-Gemmes-sur-Loire, Les Ponts-de-Cé and Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou.

40 km of additional cycle routes by 2030

Angers Loire Métropole plans the creation of 40 km of cycle routes additional by 2030.

The idea is to recall the individual or collective benefits of cycling. It is also to accelerate the modal shift which can exist in the continuity of the nearly 25% increase in cycle paths over the past five years. This is a continuation of our policy of supporting the acquisition of bicycles and electrically assisted bicycles which has already concerned nearly 14,000 households. We will obviously make the necessary consultations around all of these projects. Most of them have already taken place with the associations directly concerned during the previous year.

Please note that the development of this network will be accompanied by dedicated signage, indicating distances and travel times. Finally, each of these routes will be identified by a color and a name, to make it easier for users to use the network.

An investment of the same amount will then be renewed in 2026, making it possible to extend this network to Trélazé, Loire-Authion and Plessis-Grammoire.
