The Pro Taghazout Bay QS 3000 will return to the Agadir region at the end of February, allowing the world’s surfing elite to discover the specificities of a spot with a growing reputation. In fact, the World Surf League et Taghazout Bay are organizing the 2025 edition of Pro Taghazout Bay, from February 22 to March 1, 2025, on behalf of the regional qualifying series (called Qualifying Series or QS) for Africa and Europe.

The best surfers in the world will still have to negotiate the waves of Pointe des Ancres (Anchor Point), which hosted the first edition in 2020 then that of 2023, marked by impressive performances. “Perfect on its best days, Anchor Point in Taghazout rivals the best waves in the world. This long straight breaks along a rocky reef, forming several hollow sections perfect for high-performance surfing. The Anchor Point wave offers impressive surfing conditions when it reaches heights of 2 to 3 meters. The competition window in February offers optimal conditions, combining powerful swells and favorable winds,” specify the organizers.

Flagship event of the African and European qualifying series (QS), the Pro Taghazout Bay, a QS of 3000 points, therefore represents a key step in securing a place in the Challenger Series (CS) of 2025. This edition should welcome distinguished guests , starting with Olympic gold medalist Kauli Vaast (FRA), winner in 2023. European talents Keoni Lasa (EUK) and Afonso Antunes (POR) will also be closely followed, as will the young French revelation Tya Zebrowski (FRA) who will participate in the competition for the first time. Top surfers Annette Gonzalez Etxabarri (EUK) and Noah Klapp (GER) are also expected at this meeting.
