The association “ From Aveyron to the Grandes Écoles » took place on Friday January 17 at the Jeanne d'Arc high school in Millau. This association brings together students and young graduates from Aveyron from selective courses and major schools. The objective is to promote equal opportunities in our rural areas.
Thus, “From Aveyron to the Grandes Écoles” intervenes in high schools and on guidance forums to present the different courses to Aveyron high school students. Beyond its role of informing and raising awareness among high school students, it offers a mentoring program for student volunteers.
The objective of the meeting on January 17 was to present to future students the different possible paths in higher education through the eyes of students/young graduates. Two young Aveyron residents intervened: Yolene Pagèsfrom Réquistane, multi-active farmer and graduate of the Purpan engineering school in Toulouse, and Theo CostesMillavois, double master’s student Sciences Po Toulouse & TBS Education.
They were able to present their courses to the high school students and answer all the questions of these future students, both on the different study paths and on student life. The afternoon was punctuated by three interventions, two in front of first year classes and one in front of final year students.
-These interventions supplemented the information that the students had received the day before during their visit to the Montpellier Student Fair, thus opening the orientation period.
A big thank you to the Jeanne d'Arc high school and particularly to Ms. Verlynde, literature teacher, for organizing this moment of exchange.
