Thierry Neuville settled for fifth fastest time in his Hyundai. The reigning world champion, who remains on a victory in Monte-Carlo, finishes 1.1 behind Tänak. New Hyundai recruit, Adrien Fourmaux is sixth, 1.3 seconds behind his leader. The Frenchman is ahead of Takamoto Katsuta’s Toyota by a tenth.
We then find the two Ford Pumas with Josh McErlean ahead of Grégoire Munster. The Irishman, the only driver to have completed four passes, is 8th at 4.7 seconds, ahead of the Belgian by 1.2 seconds. Sami Pajari, who had to deal with deer crossing the road, completes the Top 10.
Tomorrow evening the Monte-Carlo Rally party will begin with the first pass through Digne-les-Bains, at around 6:05 p.m. Nineteen kilometers of special will be on the menu.
