Stations: a regional entity
#SNCF – A regional directorate for Occitanie stations of SNCF Gares & Connexions has just been created. Its headquarters is based in Montpellier and nearly 300 employees have worked throughout the region since January 1, 2025. Hilaire Hautem, former deputy territorial director at SNCF Réseau Occitanie, is taking charge of this entity. SNCF Gares & Connexions is responsible for the design, operation, maintenance and development of the 292 stations and passenger rail stops in Occitanie.

Locks on meat at the supermarket
#HERAULT – Chopped steaks, steaks, rib-eyes… under lock in a supermarket. This is the decision taken by the Intermarché store in Balaruc-les-Bains, to deal with shoplifting. This process is not a first in France, the Monoprix on the Place de la Comédie in Montpellier also uses it. “We decided to implement this after observing meat thefts in recent months”explains Jennifer Bro. This method takes place in an inflationary context which weighs on the purchasing power of the French. According to the Interior Ministry, inflation is to blame for the increase in shoplifting. The authorities have recorded 42,000 in 2022, an increase of 14% over one year.

#HAUTE-GARONNE / TARN – This Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the summary judge of the Toulouse administrative court decided not to suspend construction work on the A69, the future motorway between Toulouse and Castres. He prefers to wait for the judgment of the case “on the merits” scheduled for next February, “the project in question will produce very little concrete effect until then”he justifies. On December 16, 2024, associations opposed to the project applied to the judge for interim relief to have the work suspended. “The environmental impacts have already been produced on the overall scale of the project. As for the larger operations, in particular the diversion and filling of watercourses, they will be undertaken on a date after mid-February 2025 “explains the judge. He also considers that the application of the construction site shutdown, which would involve safety phases, would have “had effects on a date close to that of the hearing in February 2025”.

#Gard – It is Sébastien Rath who will sign the menu for the 15th edition of Vignes Toquées on Saturday May 24 and Sunday May 25, 2025 between Manduel and Bellegarde where some 3,500 guests are expected.
