: free workshops to fight the digital divide

“In close collaboration with the local missions of the (federated within the regional association of local missions – ARML – of the Grand Est), wishes to support 2,000 trainees from the Greater region, through various digital workshops in order to allow them to become familiar with the digital world and develop their skills,” indicates the telecommunications operator. To do this, it relies on its “Orange Digital Center” program which aims to promote digital inclusion.

A large catalog of free workshops accessible to all is offered: protecting your personal data, discovering social networks, taking charge of your smartphone or even avoiding online scams. 28 workshops are planned in for more than 300 beneficiaries.

After Dieuze and Sarrebourg, workshops are scheduled in the branches (Mission Locales) of Freyming-Merlebach (from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.) on Thursday January 23, 2025 to address themes such as “ protect your personal data” or “avoid online scams” ​​(January 23, then in March and May). Sarrebourg (April 2) and Dieuze (April 14) will follow.

“In addition to these various workshops, Orange is also highlighting its Coup de Pouce social offer for the most modest households. This is a complete offer which combines access to the internet, Orange , a landline telephone and a PC at a solidarity price in order to improve internet access for trainees in greatest difficulty,” explains the operator.
