The Football teams of Senegal and France will meet for a symbolic meeting, as part of a charity gala planned in Dakar from April 3 to 6, 2025.
This initiative, indicates L’Observateur, is supported by former Senegalese internationals such as Gorgui Sy Dieng and Babacar Guèye, as well as by former French international Frank Sylvestre.
The flagship match of this event will take place on April 5 at 4 p.m. at the Léopold Sédar Senghor stadium, currently being renovated in preparation for the 4th edition of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games and inaugurated for the occasion. The meeting will pit “the friends of Zidane and Ronaldinho” against a selection of former Senegalese players, including in particular the heroes of the 2002 Generation.
A tribute will be paid to Pape Bouba Diop, the only scorer in the Senegal-France match at the 2002 World Cup, who died on November 29, 2020 in Lens. According to the organizers, the kick-off will be given by his son Aaron Diop, in the presence of his family.

In addition to its sporting nature, this gala aims to raise funds for two Senegalese associations, Empire des Enfants and Village des Rois, which work to improve the living conditions of children in precarious situations. The program also includes cultural activities, such as a visit to the island of Gorée and the House of Slaves, recalling the rich historical heritage of Senegal.
