The highly anticipated draw for the TotalEnergies Morocco CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025 will take place in Rabat on January 27, 2025, where the 24 participating teams will discover their opponents.
This event, in which delegations from the 24 qualified nations will take part, will begin at 7:00 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. GMT / 8:00 p.m. Cairo time).
This ceremony offers national teams the opportunity to evaluate Morocco’s superb sports infrastructure, including modern stadiums, state-of-the-art training centers and excellent hotel complexes.
Tournament format:
The 24 teams will be divided into six groups of four. At the end of the group stage, the two best teams from each group as well as the four best third-placed teams will advance to the round of 16.
A historic moment for Morocco:
Morocco is hosting the final phase of the CAN for the first time since 1988. This event is part of a particularly exciting period for the country, which will also co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup in partnership with Spain and Portugal.
CAN over time:
This 35th edition of the CAN, established in 1957, constitutes the third oldest continental football competition, preceded only by the Copa América (1916) and the Asian Cup (1956).
