Florent Malouda, former footballer as an attacker, left the French football fields in 2018. During his career, he was notably able to wear the colors of OL and the French team.
Retired for all these years, Florent Malouda finally decided at the age of 44 to join the Guyanese army reserve.

The 3e foreign infantry regiment is based in Kourou, Florent Malouda's home territory. He thanked his new regiment for “this moment of cohesion and for these values of team spirit in the face of adversity”, in a Facebook post.
