CHRONIC – The single price introduced today on tickets only transcribes the principle of “simplification” previously implemented for packages. But, like any reform, this one has its winners and its losers.

This is a real price revolution, bold and contrary to common sense. Since 1is January 2025, any journey in Île-de-, by metro, train or RER, is paid at the single rate of 2.50 euros. Whether you go from Provins, sub prefecture of Seine-et-, to Notre-Dame de , 77 kilometers away, or whether you want to travel the two kilometers separating the Louvre from Place de la Concorde, the ticket price is the same. Such an upheaval in the pricing of public services is unprecedented in France since the introduction of the postage stamp on 1is January 1849 which had put an end to the taxation of mail by distance in force previously.
