Do you like to play? Do you want to spend an original moment with your loved ones? Are you sensitive to the environment, but don't really know how to approach the issue around you? The “My Little Planet” Challenge is made for you! This game open to all takes place over three weeks, from January 27 to February 17, 2025and the goal is to achieve ecological challenges as a team. A special “South-” classification will be set up by the Territorial Center which is relaying for the first time this national initiative which brought together between 15,000 and 20,000 players last year!

A game to play as a team

This is a game, in the form of an application (usable on computer or smartphone), to be played by team of 6 to 20 players (called “league”) with your friends, your family, your colleagues or why not your neighbors! The challenges are to be taken on individually or as a team.

“There are some for all tastes, all ages and all levelsspecifies Julien, a Réoles participant from last year. It's very nice, very fun and it doesn't take a lot of time, he says. Between approximately 10 and 15 minutes per day. »

Who is behind “My Little Planet”?

“Ma Petite Planète” is a 1901 law association created in 2020, recognized as being of general interest. The association has 35 employees and more than 200 volunteers. The economic model of this association is to offer paid support and tailor-made animation services to businesses and communities in order to then be able, thanks to these financial gains, to provide free access to the game to the general public and schools. The challenge is offered 3 times a year for the general public (end of January, end of May and end of September) and twice for schools. Since its launch, Ma Petite Planète in a few figures is: 29 past editions; 27,408 teams created; 519,200 players made aware and who took action (between 15,000 and 20,000 players each edition) and more than 6,460,000 challenges completed for the planet!

“It’s a great opportunity to talk about ecology, without a gloomy or demoralizing context,” he emphasizes. 15 themes are covered (waste, money, repair of objects, technologies, etc.), going beyond “classic” actions on energy, food or mobility.

“The strength of these themes is to move towards less obvious and less discussed aspects of the ecological transition such as increasing skills, the dissemination and sharing of knowledge, or even the link with economic and political actors”, specifies the territorial pole.

Act concretely for the planet

“Each challenge is associated with information to understand environmental issues and impacts associated with the challenge with links to external resource sites which remain accessible to participants after the game, without time limit.

This challenge is part of the Cluster's mission to lead the Climate Plan in the region (Territorial Air Energy Climate Plan – PCAET Sud Gironde) and in particular to propose actions to raise awareness among residents about the ecological transition.

“The goal is to act concretely for the planet, with actions within its reach and by adopting (new) habits,” explains Valérie Arnaud, vice-president of the Territorial Pole.

Xuan-Hoa Nguyen, project manager within the Center, also registered for the game last year.

I arrived in the area, I didn't know anyone and this game allowed me to meet other people from here, around a common challenge.

“A very nice experience, we even organized a zero waste picnic in Noaillac! “, she remembers.

A ranking defines the best players and teams

A ranking makes it possible to define the best players and teams in the region. A closing ceremony will be organized on February 21, 2025to celebrate the end of the challenge and reward the participants. “A good opportunity to meet and bond around a common cause.”

A buffet will be set up, in partnership with the caterer La Bulle de Saint-Macaire, and surely a co-cooking workshop with the participants.

The application allows you to customize 3 challenges for the territory and to communicate on the events of all the players in the region during the 3 weeks of the challenge.

“An assessment of the impacts associated with the publishing challenge (tCO2e avoided, liters of water saved, tonnes of waste avoided) will be carried out at the end of the game, allowing us to have first indicators on the awareness-raising actions to be promoted within the framework. of the Climate Plan (PCAET). Indicators that are usually difficult to measure,” says Xuan-Hoa Nguyen.

The South-Gironde territory is a “pioneer in launching this approach territorial approach of the Ma Petite Planète game because it has not yet been deployed in a territorial approach by the communities. Only the City of , Bègles and Ambérieu have used this approach to date.”
