Friday February 7 and Saturday February 8, the Palais de la Porte Dorée returns with its annual L'Envers du Décor festival, which deconstructs the history of this Art Deco building erected on the occasion of the Colonial Exhibition of 1931. New for this 8th edition: the festival will be spread over two nights which will mix the arts in all spaces of the building.
Multi-artistic creations
In the reception hall, the artist-dancer Saphir Belkheir will present a choreography inspired by the building's bas-relief; the artist Daniel Nicolaevsky Maria will offer a performance set to a soundtrack by Nigerian singer Adeola; and the company For Happy People & Co will organize a half-sung, half-dance commented stroll of the current exhibition Every life is a story. 200 views on immigration.
Among other creations, in the auditorium, the visual artist Raphaël Barontini will celebrate the hero of the Haitian revolution Toussaint Louverture with a large installation combining photography, painting or screen printing. Finally, Amalia Laurent will team up with the Pantcha Indra company for a creation around Indonesian music imagined around a large veil tinted according to the colors of the faces of the frescoes of the exhibition.
