Matam, Jan 17 (APS) – The Association of Traders and Industrialists of Senegal (ACIS), on tour in the Matam region (north), plans to set up a cell in Ourossogui, one of the main towns in the area , with a view to its massification, announced on Friday, its manager in charge of markets, Mame Thierno Diop.
”Our visit has two objectives, namely to install a cell here, in the region, with the Ourossogui market as its gateway, and to inform traders of the holding of our forum planned for next February,” he said. -he explained.
Mr. Diop was speaking during an information visit to traders at the Ourossogui market.
He was accompanied by several members of this association created in 2018.
This visit, said Mame Thierno Diop, is explained by the absence of Ourossogui traders from ACIS activities.
During this two-day tour, members of this association visited the new Matam market.
-”We found a very well-built market, with parking and a mosque. It is a closed place, with opening and closing hours. It is a model that the authorities must use to modernize other markets,” said Mr. Diop.
Oumar Cissé, the executive director of ACIS, invited the administrative authorities, territorial elected officials and customs to get closer to the future ACIS office, whose members will be elected in the coming days.
”This is how they will be able to discuss real issues related to the sector with those involved in trade and industry, so that we can avoid possible misunderstandings,” he said.
