L’Lotoise Assembly for the Nupes was born following the legislative elections of 2022, and the birth of Nupes. Made up of left-wing sympathizers, members of political parties or associations (Cimade, etc.), the collective campaigns for “the rapprochement, gathering and union of progressive, environmental and social forces”.

The Nupes having disappeared, replaced by the New Popular Front, the members of the collective decided to change the name. The collective of Lot therefore became theLotoise Citizen, Ecological, Social Assembly or ALCÉS.

Bringing citizens closer to politics

Since the creation of the collective in 2022, its members have continued to mobilize and implement actions to bring citizens a little closer to politics. “Politics concerns everyone and everyone should be able to participate. For our 3e year of existence, we are still mobilized and motivated and we have lots of ideas to involve the population in politics” explains Patricia Gontier de Figeac. “We are worried about the gap that is being created between the population and elected officials. We want a debate to begin before any decision is made. This requires elected officials to be accountable for their actions” adds Claudine Roussilhe from Durbans. “The political party is a tool, not an objective. Politics can be something else. We want people to re-appropriate politics” specifies Jean-Marie Lacaze de Labathude.

The credo of ALCÉS members remains the same: “We can act at the local level, we can move the lines at the local level”.

On the ground, the members of ALCÉS want to be a relay of the major orientations taken at the national level in the fields of education, mobility, public services, access to health, community life… Through concrete examples drawn from the field, they intend to make citizens aware of the need to take an interest in it and make their voices heard. “We want to be a force for alternative proposals and invite citizens to inform themselves, debate and imagine collective responses” explains Laurence Heurtault d'Anglars.

The members of the collective do not hesitate to participate in the various mobilizations organized by citizens, while maintaining their independence. “We are in contact with the wrestling associations in the region. We intervened alongside collectives, associations which are mobilizing on health, the environment… We are being asked” explains Patricia Gontier.

Programme 2025

Like last year, the members of ALCÉS have established an action program for the year 2025, to meet the people of Lot and facilitate everyone's expression.

In February and March, the film “The Grievances” by Hélène Desplanques will be screened in several municipalities in the Lot. This film evokes the registers of grievances collected in town halls in 2019 following the Yellow Vest movement. In April, the gesticulated conference “No arms, no chocolate” by Magalie Cazinwill address the issue of disability, inclusion and public services. The issue of mobility, dear to ALCÉS members, will also be the subject of widespread mobilization this year.

In 2025, the collective will also be interested in 2026 municipal elections. In response to the difficulty of finding candidates, meetings and discussions are planned with a view to raising awareness among citizens and bringing forward candidates throughout the territory. ALCÉS wants to play a role of facilitator and support.
