Canceled at the last minute under pressure from the advisors of the Metropolis of Lyon, the Republican primary has a new date.
It is on February 2 that the leader of the right for the metropolitan elections will be designated.
On January 22, a meeting to present the ballot will be held. And applications must be submitted before January 27 at 12 p.m.
As a reminder, for the internal vote initially scheduled for December 15, only Sébastien Michel, mayor of Ecully, had applied. The mayor of Saint-Priest Gilles Gascon did not wish to participate in this primary, criticizing in particular the composition of the electoral body which called on regional councilors and parliamentarians.
“The unity of our political family is the sine qua non condition and the guarantee of our credibility to bring an alternative to the extreme left and environmentalists, to responsibilities since 2020.
