In response to an oral question from the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) in the House of Representatives on “the promotion of the teaching of the Amazigh language and its teachers”, the minister indicated that a total of 650,936 students are currently taking Amazigh classes in 3,400 primary schools.

This figure represents a coverage rate of 40% across all primary education establishments, said the government official, adding that the number of teachers providing Amazigh lessons stands at 3,400.
The number of Amazigh language teachers, he recalled, increased from 200 in 2021 to 600 in 2022, then to 1,200 the following year, to reach 1,850 in 2024.
