A drama. This Saturday January 11the Haute-Garonne firefighters went to the town of Venerque, due toa woman carried away by the current in the Ariège riveraccording to several witnesses.
Found lifeless on the banks of the Garonne
“The alert was given around 11:30 a.m.“, indicated the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Haute-Garonne (SDIS 31).
Quickly present on the scene, the nautical and dog technical teams will proceed “reconnaissance on the watercourse and on the banks“. But, despite the numerous means deployed by SDIS 31, the victim has not been found. Provided by the firefighters, the emergency device will therefore be lifted four hours later.
The search will then continue in the air using a helicopter from the national gendarmerie, which will make it possible to locate, vers 17h20the body of the victim near the Pinsaguel castle. Aged 58she will be found lifeless on the banks of the Garonne.
Dozens of firefighters mobilized
During this intervention, around twenty firefighters (27) were mobilized. The mayors of Venerque, Vernet and Pinsaguel were also at the scene of the accident.
