Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the Georgian star of Paris Saint-Germain, has decided to leave Napoli this winter. PSG would be on the verge of winning.
Antonio Conte revealed this information which surprised everyone in Serie A this weekend: “Khvicha asked to be sold. I’m disappointed, it’s a bolt from the blue,” admitted the Napoli coach. “I have been working here with him for six months to try to show him that something important could be achieved and convince him to extend his contract.”
It will therefore have been in vain: the Georgian winger, elected Player of the Year in Serie A two years ago, will not extend and Napoli must therefore sell him this winter to avoid him leaving for free in 6 months. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is still very important for the Partenopei this season, with 5 goals and 3 assists.
And this sudden departure, we already know which club it will be for: unless there is a last minute change, Kvaratskhelia will sign for PSG. The Team announces that an agreement could be reached this Monday. The French club would be ready to put between 65 and 70 million euros, for a player estimated at 85 million per Transfer market.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli in 2022 from Dinamo Batumi, where the Georgian returned from Rubin Kazan following the Russian attack on Ukraine. Bought for barely 13 million euros, the former best player and best dribbler in the Russian championship confirmed his qualities in Serie A, becoming one of the key men for the 2023 title and finishing as the best passer and player in the championship.
A big loss, therefore, for Antonio Conte but also for Romelu Lukaku who loses one of his privileged partners on the front of the Neapolitan attack. We wait to see who will strengthen Napoli in the other direction.
