A fire broke out around 3 a.m. on the night of Saturday to Sunday at Ferland Park on rue des Bouleaux in Sept-Îles. A mobile home is a total loss and the neighbor suffered damage to the exterior siding.
The director of the City of Sept-Îles Fire Department Joël Sauvé reports that the fire was visible from Route 138. Around 20 firefighters responded to the general alarm.
“A few neighboring buildings were evacuated, but the occupants were able to return to their homes as soon as the fire was brought under control around 4 a.m.,” indicates Joël Sauvé.
No one was injured and the cause is not yet known.
“According to witnesses, the owner carried out work in the house or during the day,” mentions Mr. Sauvé. “The hypothesis of arson is ruled out.”
