A small hole opened up but Gery, first, then Clauzel managed to get back after the boards had passed and the title was therefore going to be decided in a sprint. A little less comfortable in the technical parts, but more powerful, Fouquenet launched the sprint in the lead and never came back. She thus beat Clauzel, who was aiming for an unprecedented hat-trick, and Gery, the 19-year-old nugget, who will have to wait a little longer before confirming at the Elite level but who still won the Espoirs title of these French Championships.
