The work of the Summit of the Detailed Program for the Development of African Agriculture (CAADP) opened Thursday in Kampala, with the participation of Morocco.

The Kingdom is represented at this continental event by a delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari.

Organized by the African Union Commission, the Summit is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants, including heads of state, government officials, representatives of the private sector and civil society, as well as experts and scientists.

During this event, which continues until Saturday, participants will work towards the development and adoption of the CAADP Action Plan (2026-2035) and the Kampala Declaration.

Placed under the theme “One voice, one land”, the meeting aims to put forward an ambitious vision of the agricultural potential of African countries within the framework of the CAADP, in order to exploit the vast resources of the continent.

This aims to highlight pathways to transform African agri-food systems, with a focus on sustainable food production, agro-industrialization and trade for sustainable food production and economic transformation. The objective is to ensure food security, improve nutrition and stimulate economic growth.
