This Jura resort will soon host the top 10 in world cross-country skiing, the supporters are on edge

It’s the winter event in Haut-Jura, a great mass of world cross-country skiingwhich will bring together for a weekend the greatest athletes and thousands of supporters from all over the world at the Tuffes de Prémanon stadium. “Everyone has eyes fixed on the weatherincluding the public who are waiting for the forecasts for the weekend of January 17 before taking tickets,” explains Mathilde Cretin, communications manager for Jura Ski Events, which organizes the event.

“The snowfall at the end of December on the Jura massif and the cold which set in in the days that followed made it possible to prepare the slopes well and consolidate the route. »

A less than two weeks from the event4,000 tickets had already been sold. Groups of supporters of French Olympic Sports Committee have notably planned to have everything necessary to give heart to the athletes. On the edge of the slopes and in particular along a climb renowned for its difficulty, the public, with great support bells, megaphones and hot drinks, will give voice to encourage the cream of world skiing committed for the occasion.

French and Swiss supporters in the lead

Tickets give access to Tuffes stadium but also at the partners' village, where the public will be able to find the stands of the event's sponsors and partners: Gruyère, The County “who is on his land”, winter sports equipment manufacturers such as sports eyewear manufacturer Julbo or the ski equipment manufacturer Fischerthe tourist offices of Rousses and Gex, the Jura Nordic Area or again… theArmy, who also sees this sporting event as a recruitment opportunity.

The public is currently mostly composed of French supporterscontingent closely followed by that of the Swiss neighbors, ahead the Norwegians and Swedes are also very numerous.

A Comté and Gruyère fondue

This French stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup remains a major event for the Jura massif. Two years ago, the event attracted some 12,000 spectators along the tracks.
