On August 22 and 23, 2025, meet in Montdoumerc, in the Lot, for the 3rd edition of BOMD (Bicycle of Motocross Days), the international Vintage BMX festival. The idea of BOMD is simply to recreate the birth of BMX in the fields of California, going back in time and paying homage to the pioneers of the sport. The best specialists from ten nations are expected in the Lot. Great show.
We all remember the famous historic tricolor hat-trick in BMX at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Many have discovered this sport that they thought was recent. And yet, we have to go back to the beginning of the 70s when visionary kids, passionate about motocross, had the brilliant idea of diverting the use of small beach-cruiser bikes, called “Stingray”, intended for the road.
From Friday August 22 at 2 p.m. to Saturday evening August 23, the village of Montdoumerc and the BOMD field will vibrate in a 100% vintage BMX atmosphere.
A discipline invented 50 years ago by teenagers
The BOMD 3rd edition is a 100% free event, organized by the BOMD association, helped by its volunteers, the entire village of Montdoumerc and its partners.

Why not go hurtling down dirt slopes and imitate motocross riders? More than 50 years ago, passionate teenagers accidentally invented BMX. Without imagining that many years later, this “Bicycle Motocross” would become an Olympic sport and make an entire nation proud.
Recreate the atmosphere of the era
For this third edition, thanks to the previous organizations which were great successes, the event is positioned as the reference for vintage BMX in the world. For two days, more than 350 BMX'ers will compete with old-school BMXs on a new track faithful to the era.
Created for the occasion, the 400 m track, traced on a slope, in the middle of a fantastic panoramic field, and adjacent to the typical village of Montdoumerc in the Lot, will be the heart of the event.
A bucolic and “American-style” setting
In the purest style of the tracks at the beginning of BMX in California, time will stand still… Get ready to enter a space-time bubble in the middle of a magnificent bucolic and American-style setting.
8 participants will race down the starting hill, then there will be jumps, whoops, sliding turns, and even a pool jump, for maximum fun with wild “battles” on their old BMX bikes. All commented on by a friendly duo of speakers!
The announced presence of a BMX legend
10 nations from around the world are expected. With the greatest champions of the time, including the American Stu Thomsen. One of the great legends of BMX, winner of Bercy 84, several times US champion, important player in the birth of BMX, who will come especially from California to participate in BOMD 3. Several BMX world champions and big names in the discipline, will also be there.
A host of activities for the whole family
Free parking, 70's decor, numerous activities, competitions (mule cup among others), BMX battles, exhibitors, vintage area, 70's vehicles, balance bike track, music, refreshment bar and food trucks, everything will be done to have an unforgettable time.
This Festival will conclude on Saturday evening with the finals, then a great evening will be offered, with 2 “rock-vintage” concerts. Two great local groups, “Cétacé” and “Tell Mama”, will punctuate the atmosphere of this friendly and very good-natured event, which promises to be grandiose! The 2-day program is dense, promising lots of spectacle.
