Kédougou, January 7 (APS) – Nurses in charge of the post threaten to block all health activities in the Kédougou region to protest against the “arbitrary” assignment of El Hadji Youssoupha Diène, state nurse, who was on duty at the Dakatéli health post, a locality in the Salémata department (east).
»Our colleague was arbitrarily transferred because he refused to take per diem during a workshop held at the Salémata health district. The head doctor of the Salémata health district wanted to force him to take resident’s per diem. Which he did not want because he is a non-resident, being on duty at the Dakatéli post,” explained Der Cissé, secretary of the democratic union of health and social sector workers affiliated to the CNTS/FC .
“He was arbitrarily transferred to the Salémata health center without request for an explanation or report on his management,” he denounced during a press briefing, in which all the head nurses of the station took part. department of Salémata.
Der Cissé informed that they have contacted the administrative authorities. »We have discussed this morning with the medical authorities but they have stuck to their decision. And in the days to come, we will move into gear to block all health activities at the regional level,” he warned.
Mr. Cissé, also a state nurse and head of health post in the commune of Tomboronkoto, criticized the management of the doctor of the head of the Salémata health district.
»He runs the district vertically. We came to Salémata twice to try mediation but he categorically refused even though it was a decision that did not respect normal procedures,” he said, inviting the chief doctor to “return to the transfer note which does not respect any social procedure”.
”We do not refuse transfers but they must respect the rules and normal procedures. And our comrade will stay in Dakateli. He will not take up service until the chief doctor returns to the transfer note,” he maintained.
Contacted by journalists, the head doctor of the Salémata health district said he did not want to react to this subject for “the moment”.
