Morocco/Guinea-Bissau: cooperation on the memory of resistance fighters | APAnews

Morocco and Guinea-Bissau signed, on Tuesday, a cooperation agreement between the High Commission for Former Resistance fighters and former members of the Moroccan liberation army and the Ministry of Veterans, Liberty and Homeland of Guinea-Bissau.

Veterans play a central role in preserving collective memory and transmitting the values ​​of patriotism and freedom. They embody sacrifice and commitment to independence and national dignity.

This agreement aims to preserve shared historical memory and improve the living conditions of former resistance fighters and fighters from both countries.

This convention emphasizes the exchange of information, the promotion of cultural and scientific work linked to the memory of veterans, and the promotion of projects improving their material and moral conditions.

The agreement also provides for initiatives intended to disseminate the values ​​of nationalism and citizenship among younger generations and to strengthen international cooperation in this area.

During the ceremony, the High Commissioner for former resistance fighters and former members of the liberation army, Mustapha El Ktiri, underlined the importance of this common commitment to preserve historical memory and support former resistance fighters and fighters.

For his part, the Minister of Veterans, Homeland and Freedom of Guinea-Bissau, Aly Hijazy praised Morocco’s historic role in supporting Guinea-Bissau, emphasizing the importance of strengthening trade between the two countries.
