2025 has its share of surprises in store, and recipients of the activity bonus are among those who will benefit. A future reform could well change the situation for claiming this aid. The most interesting? It concerns all beneficiaries. We explain everything to you!

An obligation to receive the activity bonus

The activity bonus is a boost from CAF that millions of French people appreciate. Revalued each year, it has become essential for boosting purchasing power. However, this aid does not come without compensation. To continue to receive it, the golden rule is to always make the quarterly declaration on time.

The quarterly declaration of resources is obligatory for all beneficiaries of the activity bonus. Every three months, they must transmit details of their income to the CAF. It is then from this information that the organization calculates the amount of aid to which they are entitled.

This is why the amount may vary in the event of a change in situation and resources. But what risk do those who forget the quarterly declaration risk? An immediate suspension of their aid.

Activity bonus: the conditions for receiving the maximum amount

If an error slips into your figures, then your wallet suffers, with a activity bonus revised downwards. But something new regarding this obligation could well bring a smile to the faces of beneficiaries.

An experiment soon to be generalized

Let's admit that completing a quarterly declaration is not exactly fun. This is even one of the reasons why some people miss out on the activity bonus. According to the figures of the Dreesalmost 16% of eligible people do not claim it. The situation thus prompted us to test an innovative reform: solidarity at the source.

Since fall 2024, five departments have served as experimental grounds: Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hérault, Ardennes, Aube and Alpes-Maritimes. The goal? Simplify access to this essential assistance by automating part of the administrative procedures. This project aims not only to reduce non-recourse, but also to effectively combat fraud.

The concept is as ingenious as it is effective. Thanks to the montant net social (MNS)the quarterly declarations for the activity bonus are now pre-filled. This data, from employers or social organizations, allows beneficiaries to simply check and validate their declaration. The best news? This promising test will be established beyond the five pilot departments.

When will this change be made to the activity bonus?

As you will have understood, some recipients of the activity bonus are already benefiting from the reform of solidarity at source. For the others then? They won't have to wait long. The generalization of this system will be for March 2025. So no more nervous breakdowns in front of the screen during the quarterly declaration!

Activity bonus: these new rules you absolutely need to know to reach it easily

With the pre-filled formsthe task becomes much simpler. However, be careful not to validate everything with your eyes closed. Each box requires careful checking to ensure the information is accurate. However, a small error can result in a reduction in the amount of your activity bonus. In certain cases, CAF may even ask you for a refund.

Another important point: even with simplification, you still need to fill in certain elements manually. This concerns in particular alimony, donations, or income from capital or property. Omitting them can indeed cause complications.
