Ten years ago, on January 7, 8 and 9, 2015, three terrorist attacks left 17 dead and 22 injured in Paris, marking the start of a long cycle of attacks.
This day of Tuesday January 7, 2025 will be marked by several moments of commemoration, aimed at perpetuating the memory of the attacks of January 2015. Part of the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo lost his life there, as well as police officers and Jewish customers of a Hypercasher store. In Paris, the ceremonies will begin at 11:30 a.m. rue Nicolas-Appert in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, where the satirical newspaper had its premises at the time.
They will continue on Boulevard Richard Lenoir, where police officer Ahmed Merabet was shot dead by the Kouachi brothers as they fled, and will end at 1:10 p.m. with a tribute to the victims of the Hyper Cacher store.
Tomorrow Wednesday, the city of Montrouge will organize a tribute ceremony to municipal police officer Clarissa Jean-Philippe, killed by Amedy Coulibaly, also author of the Hyper Cacher attack.
Tributes from Lille to Toulouse
Some other large cities in France have decided to organize meditations today. In Lille, a rally is planned for 11:30 a.m. on the square in front of the town hall, in Besançon it will be at noon on the Esplanade des Droits de l'Homme and in Toulouse – the birthplace of the economist Bernard Maris – the tribute will also take place at noon, square Charles de Gaulle.
In the Haute-Garonne prefecture, several gatherings, documentary screenings and debates are planned between January 7 and 17.
