Six departments are placed on orange vigilance by Météo . for floods, and Oise, , Seine-Maritime, and Pas-de- for snow and ice. Vigilance which must start at 2 p.m. in the Oise and 3 p.m. in the other departments, and last until Thursday noon, except in the Somme where vigilance must be lifted at 8 p.m. this Wednesday.

According to the forecast bulletin, “snow precipitation is temporary over a large south-eastern half of Hauts-de-France but can locally lead to snow depths of 2 to 5 cm in the north-west of Oise, the north of Seine-Maritime, the south-east of the Somme, the north of Aisne and the south-eastern margin of Nord-Pas-de-Calais”. Snow which should not stay on the ground for very long since a clear softening then occurs quickly in these sectors, indicates Météo France.

“Towards the north-west of Hauts-de-France, beyond an // line, snow precipitation temporarily weakens at the end of the day before resuming in the second part of the night and morning. Overall of the episode, they then lead to snow depths of around 5 to 10 cm, reaching up to 10 to 15 cm locally 20 cm on the relief of Boulonnais or even l’Artois”, warns Météo France.
