[DIGITAL Business Africa] – A distinguished guest at the Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy. Alioune Sall and his team received this January 2, 2025, the Minister of National Education, Moustapha Mamba Guirassy, ​​accompanied by his collaborators, for a presentation of the new Digital Strategy for Senegalese Education 2025-2029. A government vision that aims to modernize our education system. To achieve this, Alioune Sall is counting on new technologies.

The use of AI will allow learning pathways to be personalized according to the individual needs of students. Digital teacher training sessions will allow teachers to master digital tools and integrate them effectively into their lessons. Who says digital refers to interactive learning. For this, public school teachers will receive tablets and computers.

Other innovations will also be integrated into this action plan. In particular digital identity, cybersecurity to ensure the security of our information systems, electronic payment, an interoperability platform, a big data and analytics platform, etc.

The Ministry of Digital, Alioune Sall, said he was “fully” committed to supporting sectors in the implementation of their Digital strategy.

“We are committed to supporting the national Ministry of Education to ensure the connectivity of the country’s various establishments and the modernization of educational information systems,” promised Alioune Sall.

Worth approximately 130 billion FCFA, this government vision is part of Senegal’s New Technological Deal. The expected benefits of this strategy are enormous. The government hopes to improve academic results thanks to adapted educational tools; reducing the school dropout rate, particularly in rural areas; strengthening the digital skills of students and teachers, thus preparing young people for the job market. The success of this strategy relies on solid partnerships with public and private actors.

The two ministers, Sall and Guirassy, ​​welcomed the convergence of strategic axes and the synergies between the two teams; They instructed to set up a task force to address the identified areas of collaboration, namely:

1- the organization of a workshop to align the two digital strategies;

2- The formulation, by the group of experts, of orientations and recommendations in governance and operational aspects;

3- Review of the flagship projects of the Ministry of National Education of Senegal to be integrated into the pilot phase of the Digital Master Plan in a collaborative approach.
