Ousmane Sonko, leader of Pastef, took a stand in the face of the criticism and threats that followed this decision. In a firm statement, he denounced the manipulations and called for an end to the abuses, while reaffirming the need to preserve cohesion and respect within his party.
The appointment of Aoua Bocar Ly, a source of strong reactions, pushed Ousmane Sonko, leader of Pastef, to intervene firmly. Denouncing the criticism and threats coming from certain activists, he castigated the manipulations and called for an end to the excesses.

In his live broadcast on Sunday evening on his Facebook page, he affirmed that such practices must stop within the party. With this declaration, Sonko calls for a climate of respect and cohesion.
He denounced the remarks which he considers insane according to which the President would deliberately name individuals who insulted him. Sonko stressed the need for constructive debate and respect for institutional roles.
Among other things, PM Sonko assumed his share of responsibility in a controversial decision, claiming to have been consulted by the President of the Republic and to have given his agreement. He recognized that, if an error had been made, he would share responsibility with the Head of State, thus marking a position of transparency and institutional solidarity.
