All relevant provincial services have been mobilized to restore traffic on the roads temporarily disrupted by the snowfall that occurred during the night from Sunday to Monday in the province of Ifrane, indicated the provincial director of the Ministry of Transportation. ‘Equipment and Water, Abdelilah Azmi.
In a statement to MAP, Azmi affirmed that all provincial services were mobilized under the effective supervision of the Governor of Ifrane Province following the moderate snowfall which caused traffic disruptions on strategic roads in the province.
Momentary traffic disruptions were recorded in particular on national road No. 13 linking Azrou, Timahdite and Ait Oufella, said the provincial official, noting that snow removal operations made it possible to open the road between Azrou and Ait Oufella. Timahdite while efforts continue between Timahdite and Ait Oufella.
National road No. 08 (RN08) also experienced a half-hour traffic interruption between Azrou and Ifrane, he added, specifying that the intervention of snow removal teams with two machines made it possible to free the road which is now open to traffic, in particular the Ifrane exit towards El Hajeb.
Only the Michlifen road is still closed to traffic pending the intervention of snow removal machines, Azmi noted.
